About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at HSDC. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality pro-active academic and pastoral learning support service for learners who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized learning support to learners with additional learning needs, ensuring they have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, other support staff, and external agencies to develop and implement effective learning plans.
  • Contribute to an outstanding learner experience by providing high-quality support that promotes independence and confidence.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of learning difficulties and disabilities, and the strategies to alleviate these.
  • Participate in regular training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in learning support.
Requirements
  • Maths and English qualifications at least at level 2.
  • Educated to at least level 3.
  • Understanding of factors that create barriers to learning and strategies to overcome these.
  • Proven track record and experience of effective quality improvement in learning support.
  • Well-developed ability for problem-solving and decision-making.
