Programme Director - Efficiencies

We're a family of brands revolutionising a cleaner, greener future. Our British Gas Services and Solutions business is at the forefront of this transformation, and we're seeking a Programme Director to lead our Efficiencies Programme.

Overview

The Efficiencies Programme is a critical component of our growth strategy, aimed at simplifying and standardising processes and technology across our Hive, Net Zero, and Protection businesses. As Programme Director, you will be responsible for maintaining a strategic focus, ensuring the overarching vision and goals align with British Gas Services and Solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage resource allocation effectively and mitigate programme risks through identification, assessment, and resolution.
  2. Prioritise high-impact activities and develop a stakeholder engagement strategy to align and gain support from stakeholders.
  3. Establish and monitor key performance metrics for the programme, including what success looks like.
  4. Develop training and deployment plans upfront, along with communication strategies to ensure key messages and actions are timely.
  5. Balance the risk between the need for change and operational stability.
  6. Ensure credible planning across the programme takes place, taking account of interdependencies and that programme finances are managed in line with approved budgets.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have major programme leadership skills gained from a large complex organisation, preferably in the energy, FMCG, or utilities sectors. Experience in managing programmes with medium to high complexity, including knowledge and experience of both waterfall and Agile delivery methods, is essential. You will also have demonstrable experience of delivering complex projects and delivering project outcomes for impacted areas, such as process improvement, service management, IT governance, and programme management.

What We Offer

At Centrica, we embrace diversity and actively seek to attract individuals with unique backgrounds and perspectives. We are dedicated to helping to close the diversity gap and would love to see more females, people of colour, and LGBTQ+ employees, as well as those from a variety of cultures and ethnicity to veterans and the differently abled. Supporting diversity and inclusion is a big part of who we are, and we are not looking for people to fit into our culture but to add to it.
