The Forward Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Recovery Champion Lead to join our team in HMP Brixton and HMP Wormwood Scrubs. As a Recovery Champion Lead, you will play a vital role in championing the 'lived experience' and working with service users to promote and assist in the delivery of services.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the implementation of a new contract model at HMP Wormwood Scrubs and the development of projects and initiatives across our other London prisons.

You will be responsible for supporting the team and the prison in delivering peer-led elements of service delivery, including the recruitment, training, and supervision of peer supporters and mentors. You will also play a key role in the development and delivery of Health and Wellbeing Champions (HAWCs) within the prisons in partnership with healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver training on a peer support programme
  • Recruit, train, and supervise peer supporters and mentors
  • Work with service users to promote and assist in the delivery of services
  • Develop and deliver Health and Wellbeing Champions (HAWCs) within the prisons

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the criminal justice sector
  • Knowledge of the issues facing substance misusers
  • Ability to develop, coordinate, and deliver training on a peer support programme
  • Previous experience of providing a peer support service to this or a similar client group
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent
