About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Officer to join our Children and Families Commissioning & Market Management Service. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering effective commissioning and contract management outcomes, ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the effective delivery of commissioning and contract management outcomes, modelling values and behaviours to help us achieve our ambition to become the best city council in the country.
  • Support colleagues to deliver our collective responsibility to keep all children safe, using the principles of project management to undertake aspects of the commissioning programme.
  • Design and develop services to improve children's outcomes and meet need, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the active involvement of children and young people and families in how Children and Families services are commissioned and delivered.
  • Develop and maintain systems and processes, including Safeguarding, Quality Assurance, Information Governance, Performance, and Risk Assessments across the team.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of evidence-based approaches within the context of services to children, young people, and families.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Child Friendly City concept.
  • Understanding of commissioning principles and practice, including the commissioning cycle and procurement.
  • Understanding of issues relating to contract management and compliance.
  • Ability to use MS Office and IT packages to produce accurate reports.
  • Ability to understand and observe Leeds City Council Equal Opportunities Policy.
