About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Officer to join our team in the Children and Families Directorate. As a Commissioning Officer, you will play a critical role in delivering effective commissioning and contract management outcomes, modelling values and behaviours to help us achieve our ambition to become the best city council in the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the effective delivery of commissioning and contract management outcomes, ensuring that services provide value for money and meet the needs of children and families.
  • Coordinate projects within the Commissioning Manager's portfolio, undertaking data analysis and completing reports to inform decision-making.
  • Design and develop services to improve children's outcomes and meet need, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the active involvement of children and young people and families in how Children and Families services are commissioned and delivered.
  • Develop and maintain systems and processes to ensure safeguarding, quality assurance, and information governance across the team.
Requirements
  • Relevant technical skills, knowledge, qualifications, and membership of relevant professional bodies.
  • Ability to use MS Office and IT packages to produce accurate reports and information to support commissioning practices.
  • Ability to understand and observe Leeds City Council Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • Willingness to actively participate in training and development activities to ensure up-to-date knowledge and skills.
