Are you passionate about delivering high-quality care to individuals with learning disabilities and autism? We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Disabilities and Autism Lead Nurse to join our Safeguarding team at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust (BWC).

About the Role

This is a unique chance to shape the future of our service, bringing your expertise and innovative ideas to drive forward the LDA strategy. As the Lead Nurse for Learning Disabilities and Autism, you will support our multidisciplinary teams in delivering exceptional, inclusive care for patients with learning disabilities and/or autism.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing leadership through a strong visible clinical presence within the Learning Disabilities Liaison team and across BWC.
  • Enhance midwifery and nursing practice and the provision of a safe effective and high-quality care environment for children, young people, and their families and carers.
  • Collaborate with senior management, including the Associate Director for Safeguarding and Learning Disabilities and Heads of Nursing & Midwifery for inpatient and community services across our hospitals.
Requirements

We are looking for a qualified nurse with current clinical and leadership experience of working with patients with learning disabilities and autism. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as an evidence-based approach to delivering high-quality care.

The ideal candidate will have experience of driving change and shaping service improvements, with a proven ability to prioritise demanding workloads and motivate others. You should also be flexible to meet service needs and proactive, self-motivated with an ability to motivate others.

A competitive salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per annum reflects the importance of this role in delivering high-quality care to our patients.
