Aquatic Ecotoxicologist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Aquatic Ecotoxicologist to join our team at Labcorp. The successful candidate will lead the execution of high-quality services in support of aquatic ecotoxicology studies, ensuring all processes meet relevant regulatory standards and are conducted efficiently.

  • This role involves initiating, directing, monitoring, and reviewing work within the department, expediting tasks to agreed timelines, and providing expert guidance on scientific, technical, and regulatory aspects of ecotoxicology.
  • The Aquatic Ecotoxicologist will direct continuous improvement initiatives, ensure training requirements are met, and stay up-to-date with current developments in ecotoxicology.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Initiate, direct, monitor, and review all work within the department.
  2. Expedite all works to agreed client/company timelines.
  3. Provide advice and guidance on the scientific, technical, and regulatory conduct of studies, as well as for the interpretation, documentation, and reporting of results.
  4. Direct the continuous improvement in the quality of work, reporting, and presentation.
  5. Ensure that the training requirements are met.
  6. Be familiar with current developments in the technical and regulatory aspects of Ecotoxicology.
  7. Pursue new technologies, applications of potential benefit to the department, and act as a key SME providing clients with advice and guidance on all aspects of Ecotoxicology.
Requirements:
  • PhD or equivalent, or MSc/BSc degree in an appropriate scientific discipline.
  • Full understanding of the regulatory requirements and the scientific techniques of aquatic ecotoxicology studies required.
  • Experience of client management and technical expertise in the relevant business line.
  • Previous experience in a Study Director role or equivalent would be useful but not essential.
  • Experience of a range of techniques/approaches relevant to the department and/or unique expertise for a specific scientific service.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and supervision.
  • Skilled data interpretation and report writing experience.
