Neurodiversity Support Specialist

Sodexo is seeking a highly skilled Neurodiversity Tutor to join their dedicated learning team at HMP Northumberland. As a Neurodiversity Tutor, you will play a vital role in providing dedicated Special Educational Needs support for prisoners, increasing their engagement with the regime and awareness of relevant coping strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a full teaching qualification, a minimum of two years of qualified teaching experience, and a good understanding of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) code of practice. They will also possess the ability to manage confrontation and challenging behaviour, as well as patience, understanding, and empathy with learners.
Main Responsibilities- Liaise with other departments to ensure all learners with neurodiverse needs are supported to develop self-confidence, independence, and improve their knowledge and skills.
- Ensure that quality assurance procedures are adhered to and are used to achieve high standards.
- Assist in the development of behaviour policies and procedures to meet the needs of all learners.
- Work and collaborate with other teaching staff within the department/prison to ensure that the activities reflect the needs of the prisoners within the subject areas, in healthcare.
The successful candidate will receive a salary up to £31,000 per annum, depending on experience. They will also have access to a range of benefits, including a Sodexo retirement plan, discounts to over 1,900 brands, and a confidential 24/7 employee assistance programme.
