About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Inspector to join our team at Thales UK. As an Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our defence electronics and avionics solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect production and repair items to ensure they meet product defining data and company workmanship standards.
  • Verify assembly, wiring, modifications, and repairs of simple to complex units and systems.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections and verify associated documentation.
  • Inspect units and systems to documentation pack and company workmanship standards.
  • Maintain equipment and tooling as required.
  • Verify equipment build standards and raise Inspection Reports.
  • Conduct Inspection Surveys of repair units and audit In-Process Verified (IPV) operators to ensure compliance with IPC standards.
  • Support Workplace Management requirements with regard to Monthly Inspections, ESD, COSHH, and Temperature & Humidity records.
  • Support the generation, modification, and validation of company processes, procedures, practices, and standards.
  • Support the rollout of and promote adherence to company processes, procedures, practices, and standards.
  • Contribute to effective improvement activities within the industry.
  • Maintain Thales key values.
About You
  • You will have a good understanding of company and departmental procedures.
  • You will have a working knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental policy, procedures, and legislation.
  • You will have basic PC skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.
  • You will have the ability to train other employees in IPC standards.
  • You will have an apprenticeship/ONC or practical experience in the inspection of wiring and assembly of military and civil products.
  • You will be certified to IPC 610 and 620.
  • You will have strong planning and organisational skills.
  • You will have good communication and influencing skills.
  • You will have good problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • You will be a quick learner, open-minded, and receptive to change.
  • You will have the ability to facilitate and coach process and behavioural change.
  • You will be willing to challenge the status quo and improve on accepted standards.
  • You will be ready and willing to make decisions to keep things moving forward.
  • You will be a team player with good self and other awareness.
  • You will have a strong disciplined approach to process.
