Support Worker for Adults with Learning Disabilities
3 weeks ago
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Gloucestershire County Council. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to adults with learning disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to support individuals in their daily lives, helping them to maintain their independence and promoting their overall well-being.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should have a genuine interest in working with adults with learning disabilities and be able to demonstrate empathy and understanding in your interactions with service users. A relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent is desirable, but not essential. What is essential, however, is your ability to work as part of a team and provide high-quality support to individuals with complex needs.
About Us:
Goucestershire County Council is committed to providing high-quality care and support services to adults with learning disabilities. We are proud to be a employer of choice, attracting and retaining talented individuals who share our commitment to excellence. Our team is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of the people we support, and we believe that our approach sets us apart from other care providers.
Key Responsibilities:
Your key responsibilities as a Support Worker will include:
- Providing personal care and support to adults with learning disabilities, including assistance with daily living tasks and promoting independence.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with service users, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
- Working collaboratively with the care team to assess the needs of individuals and develop tailored support plans.
- Participating in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as person-centered care, communication, and disability awareness.
What We Offer:
In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary, comprehensive training and development opportunities, and a range of benefits, including access to our employee assistance programme, tax-free childcare, and cycle-to-work scheme. We are committed to supporting the well-being of our employees and offer a range of initiatives to promote work-life balance and reduce stress.
How to Apply:
If you are a motivated and caring individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application, outlining your relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, and how you meet the essential and desirable criteria for this role. We look forward to receiving your application and discussing this opportunity further with you.
