Principal Communications Design Engineer

BAE Systems is a leading provider of advanced defense, security, and aerospace solutions. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Principal Communications Design Engineer to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge communications systems and be part of a collaborative environment that values innovation and excellence.

In this position, you will be responsible for delivering technical input and engineering solutions in support of build activities, defect resolution, and change management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand the contractual and performance requirements for various systems and support the definition and associated acceptance criteria and events through design, build, integration, installation, and commissioning activities.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Produce technical specifications and supporting calculations for design review purposes.
  • Undertake design reviews and presentations to customers.
  • Review and assess supplier documentation and ensure accurate recording.
  • Provide technical support during integrated performance and acceptance activities.

About the Role
This role is based in one of our UK locations, including Barrow-in-Furness, Filton, Weymouth, Portsmouth BroadOak, Brough, Manchester, or Frimley. The company offers a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role. The salary for this position is £45,628+ depending on experience.
