Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior mechanical engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a senior principal engineer, you will be responsible for leading and developing the package of design evidence required to justify a safe and effective design solution. You will also specify and assist in the build of prototypes, products, and systems suitable for testing.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead design evidence to justify a safe and effective design solution.
  • Assist in the specification and build of prototypes, products, and systems suitable for testing.
  • Provide timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues.
  • Ensure that commitments are agreed, reviewed, and met.
  • Mentor junior engineers regarding technical matters.
  • Present technical information effectively to various audiences.
  • Achieve compliance with regulations and standards.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree in engineering, mechanical or science subjects, with experience in creating design documentation and presenting it to customers and wider groups. You should also have the capability to solve complex engineering calculations and possess a background in engineering lifecycle.
