Job Description:

The Consultant Social Worker will be responsible for undertaking assessments of children in need, ensuring robust and timely care planning, and demonstrating high standards of practice that prioritize the needs of children.

  • To conduct comprehensive assessments of children's needs, utilizing the Assessment Framework and Working Together guidelines.
  • To develop and implement effective care plans that promote the development, wellbeing, and protection of children.
  • To maintain accurate records and update the Service's database with relevant information.
  • To identify and manage risks of significant harm to children, seeking guidance and authorization from managers as necessary.
  • To represent children, young people, families, carers, groups, individuals, and partner agencies to access services.
  • To provide independent advocacy advice to children, young people, families, carers, groups, and individuals, tailoring support to meet their unique needs.
  • To contribute to improving practice and quality within the Team by mentoring social work staff, leading team discussions, and staying up-to-date with research findings and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Holding a social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrating experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
  • Having knowledge of children's health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
