We are seeking an experienced and skilled Consultant Geriatrician to join our Frailty Intervention Team at Royal Lancaster Infirmary. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering high-quality care to our patients with frailty.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Geriatrician to join our team and contribute to the development of a new model of care for patients with frailty in the Morecambe Bay area. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with complex needs, and contribute to the development of our Frailty Intervention Team pathway.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake patient assessments for Frail & Older patients attending the emergency department to help patients return to their normal place of residency at the earliest opportunity
- Provide care for acutely unwell, frail patients on the AFU
- Review appropriate patients classed as Outliers
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement
- Provide leadership and work as part of and develop our team
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council MRCP or equivalent
- Certificate of completion in specialist training (CCT) in general internal medicine (GIM) and geriatric medicine or within 6 months of completion of training at the time of interview
- MD or PhD degree
