Job Description:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for defining, designing and implementing appropriate manufacturing solutions, including the use of automation, for both new and existing product and processes, in line with product manufactured on site.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate new product development with design, quality, and production teams.
  2. Identify and implement manufacturing solutions to improve KPIs.
  3. Lead creation and updates of Value Stream Maps for process improvement.
  4. Determine optimal workforce levels and implement standard work processes.
  5. Drive manufacturing efficiency improvements throughout product lifecycle.
  6. Analyse waste, enhance value-added activities, and train operators.
  7. Improve machine safety, manage obsolescence, and refurbishment.
  8. Identify and apply new manufacturing technologies for process improvement.
  9. Lead Lean projects alongside design, production, and quality teams.
  10. Manage budgets for both capital and revenue-related projects.
Requirements:
  1. 5+ years experience in a similar role.
  2. Qualified to HNC - Degree level or equivalent experience in Manufacturing Engineering or similar discipline.
  3. Have knowledge of automated manufacturing systems or robotics.
  4. Have knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing engineering techniques such as time and motion study, ergonomics, work flow design, factory layout design etc.
  5. Have knowledge and understanding of primary Lean principles such as 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping.
  6. Have knowledge and understanding of manufacturing technology such as FMEA, Design for Manufacture.
  7. Have knowledge and experience of using Microsoft packages and CAD systems.
