Mechanical Design Engineer Position

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Consett, Durham. This role involves the design and development of both new and existing projects, contributing to high-performance mechanical solutions in the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities:- Generate 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings to support the design and development of aerospace projects.
- Perform a variety of design processes in areas such as aerodynamics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanical systems, and mechanisms to ensure the creation of high-performance mechanical solutions.
- Contribute to the creation of compliance documents, including test reports, design/analysis reports, and safety assessments, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of aerospace systems.
- Develop in-house software and engineering tools to reduce costs, increase quality, and expand capability in the aerospace industry.
- Assist with practical work, including building prototypes, machines, and assembling test rigs, to support the design and development of aerospace projects.
- Relevant qualification/degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a similar field.
- Experience with 3D & 2D CAD software, with SolidWorks being a preferred skill.
- Experience with data analysis software and DAQ/control systems, with a preference for those with a background in aerospace engineering.
