Aerospace Mechanical Design Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Consett, Durham. This role involves the design and development of both new and existing projects, contributing to high-performance mechanical solutions in the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Generate 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings to support the design and development of aerospace projects.
  2. Perform a variety of design processes in areas such as aerodynamics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanical systems, and mechanisms to ensure the highest quality solutions.
  3. Contribute to the creation of compliance documents, including test reports, design/analysis reports, and safety assessments, to ensure regulatory compliance.
  4. Develop in-house software and engineering tools to reduce costs, increase quality, and expand capability.
  5. Assist with practical work, including building prototypes, machines, and assembling test rigs, to support the design and development process.
Requirements:
  1. Relevant qualification/degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a similar field.
  2. Experience with 3D & 2D CAD software, with SolidWorks being a preferred skill.
  3. Experience with data analysis software and DAQ/control systems, with a preference for those with a background in these areas.
