About the Role
We are seeking a Clinical Associate Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at Ballington House, a 10-bedded mental health rehabilitation hospital providing services for women with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Working autonomously under supervision from a Registered Practitioner Psychologist, undertaking psychological assessments, contributing to bespoke clinical formulations, delivering structured, evidence-based, and psychologically informed interventions, and undertaking agreed research activity.
- Providing psychological assessment and treatment to service users, tailoring interventions in collaboration with service users experiencing complex issues such as emotional instability, trauma, suicidality, attachment difficulties, and self-harm.
- Communicating confidential and highly complex personal information concerning psychological needs to referring agents and clients.
- Determining and undertaking appropriate psychological intervention, including CBT, TF-CBT, DBT-informed approach, CFT, and ACT.
- Monitoring therapeutic progress through psychometric and clinical assessments, e.g., BDI-ii, behavioral monitoring.
- Planning day-to-day clinical assessments and interventions under the supervisor's guidance through supervision provided by a registered Practitioner Psychologist.
- Providing written reports and assessments for professionals, clients, their families, and other agencies.
Requirements
- A professional qualification as a Clinical Associate Psychologist, or equivalent qualification as a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner.
- Current membership of the British Psychological Society or individual accreditation as a CAP once national accreditation schemes are available.
- Bachelor's degree in psychology.
- Experience of working as a qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist/Mental Health Practitioner within Adult Mental Health services.
- Experience of working effectively under supervision from a registered Practitioner Psychologist.
- Experience of contributing to the delivery of specific psychological therapies.
- Experience of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
