Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Jupiter Recruitment. As a Specialist Residential Service for adults with autism and learning disabilities, we provide a unique and challenging environment for our therapists to work in.
About the Role: As a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing assessment, advice, and treatment to individuals with complex communication needs. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists, to achieve person-centered goals and support each individual in their planned outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, advice, and treatment to individuals with complex communication needs
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to achieve person-centered goals and support each individual in their planned outcomes
- Supervise and manage another SLT who works in the service on a full-time basis
Requirements:
- Qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and current HCPC Registration
- Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism
- Post-graduate qualification in the assessment and management of dysphagia
- Excellent understanding of core Speech and Language Therapy skills and current best practice in Speech and Language Therapy
- Excellent understanding of specialism, e.g. PMLD, Paediatrics, Autism, Learning Disability
- Knowledge of current assessment, intervention, and outcome measurement within specialism
