Job Title: Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in the Youth Justice Service. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will work with children and young people who have complex communication needs and require specialist support.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and multidisciplinary team, providing specialist speech and language therapy services to children and young people in the Youth Justice system. You will work closely with other professionals, including police, probation services, social care, and CAMHS, to provide a holistic response to the needs of these young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist speech and language therapy services to children and young people with complex communication needs
  • Work with a range of professionals, including police, probation services, social care, and CAMHS, to provide a holistic response to the needs of these young people
  • Develop and deliver training packages to staff in the Justice sector and Speech and Language Therapy Service
  • Support and develop skills in others, including staff working in Justice and Speech and Language Therapy Service
  • Develop a care pathway and procedures within the YO team and Solent NHS SLT Service to support SLCN in 12-19 year olds within Youth Justice
  • Devises, implement and analyse outcome measures to monitor the impact of the role within the YOT and to inform and develop the nature of the role or potential service, over time
