Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate consultant to join our Specialist Palliative Care Services in Buckinghamshire. The successful candidate will be part of a well-established team that provides high-quality care to patients with complex needs.

The post holder will work closely with our team of consultants to develop and implement innovative services that improve patient outcomes and experience. This includes working with our community services transformation team to enhance community palliative care and collaborating with other providers to deliver patient-centered care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical knowledge of palliative medicine, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. They will also be passionate about delivering high-quality care, driving service improvements, and promoting a culture of compassion and kindness.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Develop and implement community palliative care services in conjunction with other providers.
  • Work with our acute and community teams to deliver patient-centered care.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC recommendations 2014 and 2019.
  • Participate in the Senior Management team in palliative care.

The successful candidate will join a team of experienced clinicians who are passionate about delivering high-quality care. They will have the opportunity to work with patients, families, and carers to understand their needs and preferences and develop services that meet those needs.

Education, Qualifications, and Training

  • MRCP or equivalent GMC registrable qualifications.
  • On the Specialist Register for Palliative Medicine.

Experience

  • Good clinical knowledge of Palliative Medicine to enable the consultant to work independently.
  • Computer skills ability to use word processor, spreadsheet program, and web browser.

Clinical and Technical Skills

  • Good clinical knowledge of Palliative Medicine to enable the consultant to work independently.
  • Teaching and training of junior staff.
  • Full driving license and regular access to a vehicle.

Clinical Governance

  • Understanding the principles of Clinical Governance aspects, patient safety, and experience.
  • A commitment to continuing education and engagement in the appraisal process, learning, and undertaking personal development opportunities.

  • Good personal and interpersonal skills self-awareness.
