About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to the North Bucks Older Adult Community Mental Health Team, based at The Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Old Age Psychiatry and the ability to adapt to the changing circumstances of modern mental healthcare provision. You will be expected to work collaboratively with senior colleagues and other professions to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership to the North Bucks Older Adult Community Mental Health Team
  • Work collaboratively with senior colleagues and other professions to provide high-quality patient care
  • Develop and implement evidence-based practice and interest in clinical and policy developments for this care group
  • Supervise and teach core psychiatric trainees
  • Develop close collaboration with primary care services
  • Apply evidence-based practice and interest in clinical and policy developments for this care group
Requirements
  • Fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and on the Specialist Register or be within six months of attaining their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or an equivalent approved indicator of training
  • Higher degree or equivalent in relevant field of medical, psychological or other studies or postgraduate teaching qualification
  • Higher specialist training in old age psychiatry (or dual training) in approved training post for a minimum of three years, equivalent training in another country, or previous consultant experience relevant to this post
