About the Role

This role is responsible for providing daily supervision and coordination of work carried out by the Intelligence Processors, ensuring that appropriate and consistent methods are used in line with the National Intelligence Model to identify and disseminate High Priority intelligence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising, motivating, and developing the Intelligence Processors, as well as completing quality assurance checks of their work.

Key responsibilities include providing specialist advice and knowledge to all staff within Intelligence and other Commands relating to the submission, processing, assessing, and dissemination of intelligence.

The role also involves monitoring the effectiveness of all Intelligence Processing staff for whom you hold shared responsibility and identifying specific training needs to maintain high standards of service delivery, quality, and timeliness.

Additionally, the role requires ensuring the team's work is prioritized in line with Force Priorities, THOR, and demands of business areas, managing the response to significant and critical incidents.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying intelligence opportunities that highlight potential risk of significant harm, ensuring that an appropriate initial assessment is completed, and discussing and providing advice for the future development of the intelligence with the Intelligence Managers.

Finally, the role involves ensuring intelligence is disseminated promptly and lawfully to external agencies, adhering to guidelines from Management of Police Information (MOPI), National Intelligence Model (NIM), and legal requirements of Data Protection.

Essential Qualifications

Educated to QCF Level 3 or work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.

Experience of working in a busy office environment with some evidence of either managing a small team or allocating work, mentoring, or coaching others.
