About the Role:

DNEG is seeking a highly skilled Senior Animation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our animation department, you will be responsible for creating high-quality animation for feature films, working closely with directors and other departments to ensure cohesive and consistent character performances.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement creative animation solutions that meet the director's vision and project requirements.
  2. Collaborate with the animation team and other departments to ensure seamless integration of animation with other visual effects.
  3. Interpret and implement creative feedback to refine and improve animation quality.
  4. Stay up-to-date with the latest animation techniques and industry trends, applying this knowledge to enhance our productions.
  5. Work efficiently within project deadlines, delivering high-quality animations that meet the highest standards.
  6. Participate in team meetings and contribute to creative discussions to enhance the overall project.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Animation, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in feature film animation or a related field.
  3. Strong understanding of animation principles, character acting, and storytelling.
  4. Proficiency in animation software such as Maya, Blender, or equivalent.
  5. Experience with motion capture and integrating it into animation is a plus.
  6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  7. Ability to take direction and implement feedback effectively.
  8. A strong portfolio showcasing your animation work.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Knowledge of rigging and character setup.
  2. Familiarity with visual effects pipelines and workflows.
  3. Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
