Cygnet Health Care is seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Oldbury. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by Assistant Psychologists and other clinical members of the service.
- Undertake specialist psychological assessments, interpretation from psychological tests, semi-structured interviews, individual and group therapy.
- Formulate and implement care plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a patient's mental health problems.
- Develop skills in professional postgraduate teaching, training, and supervision in accordance with Department needs.
- Contribute to audit, policy, service development, and the assessment and interpretation of outcomes.
- A HCPC registered Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologist with experience in a clinical forensic or mental health setting.
- Able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Preferably trained in complex therapies such as Schema focused, Compassion Focused, and DBT.
- Passionate about working with people with a range of complex mental health needs.
- Has an understanding of trauma-informed care and gender-specific issues.
- Capable of working with difficulties such as self-harm and suicide attempts, physical and verbal aggression, drug and alcohol problems, and offending behavior.
