Principal Research Scientist

We are seeking an experienced Principal Research Scientist - Bioanalytical Team Lead to join our team at Bionow.
This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead our bioanalytical team and contribute to the success of our organization.
The salary for this role is estimated to be around £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Job DescriptionAs a Principal Research Scientist - Bioanalytical Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading our bioanalytical team and overseeing the conduct of studies in compliance with company SOPs, policies, protocols, study plans, analytical methods, and regulatory standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading direct line management of Study Managers, including recruitment, training, and performance management;
- Ensuring effective study planning, execution, and reporting;
- Coordinating with commercial and management teams to drive new business and expand the scope of our bioanalytical services;
- Managing budgets and operational costs, and making informed decisions regarding staffing levels, workload, and process management;
- Providing technical, practical, and scientific direction for work conducted;
- Collaborating with wider ACM organization (PMs etc.) to integrate and drive process improvements;
- Effectively communicating business goals, agreeing team and individual objectives, and offering timely feedback;
In addition to these key responsibilities, you will also have the opportunity to:
- Drive process improvements and implement measures that facilitate improved compliance, productivity, and profitability;
- Support new business development activities, including providing information for new sales inquiries (RFIs, RFPs);
- Promote best practices within your working area(s) and foster a culture that promotes quality, safety, and ethical practices, customer focus, and service;
- Provide effective leadership for the department, by effectively communicating business goals, agreeing team and individual objectives, and offering timely feedback;
- Take lead role in collaborating and integrating with wider ACM organization (PMs etc.).
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related subject;
- At least 8 years of study management experience in regulated bioanalysis;
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to coordinate and manage multiple priorities for self and others as required;
- Ability to recognize issues and potential issues and make correct decisions on how to resolve/prevent;
- Knowledge of GLP, GCP, and COSHH principles and the ability to apply them in a regulatory environment;
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively communicate business goals, agree team and individual objectives, and offer timely feedback;
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive process improvements and achieve business objectives;
