Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Barnsley. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for heading up the Commercial Management of Design, Culverts & Building/Civils Asset Management projects within the Asset Management framework.

About the Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing and developing a small team of commercial staff allocated to the business stream, as well as driving the commercial delivery of the projects and reporting on the same to senior management. Day to day duties and responsibilities include:

  • Leading the commercial management of multiple sites on time and to budget.
  • Subcontractor management.
  • Contract administration (NEC/NR forms of contract).
  • Management/supervision and mentorship of a small commercial team.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering environment. Some rail experience would be beneficial but is not essential for the position.

  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (BSc/HNC/HND).
  • Civil Engineering project experience (rail, bridges, roads, structures for example).
  • Contractual experience with NEC or bespoke NR forms of contract.
  • Experience working in a civils maintenance framework environment is essential (rail, highways, utilities, general civils maintenance/minor works).
