About the role

We are seeking a Repairs Surveyor to ensure our housing repairs service is delivered to our customers and contributes to our overall neighbourhood improvement plans.

This is a home-based role with occasional office visits and flexible working arrangements.

Key responsibilities

  • Inspect empty properties and ensure work is carried out to bring them up to a lettable standard.
  • Respond to customer inquiries relating to their home that require a face-to-face visit.
  • Listen to customer views and make recommendations for how the organisation can respond.
  • Deal directly with customers who experience problems with contractor performance.
  • Provide advice and assistance to customers to help maintain their homes.

Contract Management

  • Carry out property defect and repair inspections and appropriate diagnosis.
  • Issue orders to contractors, including prioritising and cost-coding.
  • Monitor spend against budgets and report any important differences.
  • Ensure all work is to standard and that colleagues, contractors and customers comply with health and safety and equal opportunity guidelines.
