Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a leading Food Manufacturing business in Hull. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve plant machinery and equipment by performing proactive and reactive maintenance.
  • Support operational efficiency, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Perform routine and reactive maintenance to meet equipment specifications and operational requirements.
  • Work closely with shift managers to assist with machinery setup and operations at the start of shifts.
  • Act swiftly to diagnose and repair breakdowns, reducing downtime and ensuring smooth production flow.
  • Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure optimal performance and long-term reliability.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to address safety or quality concerns and recommend improvements.
  • Analyse equipment failures and breakdowns to identify patterns and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage and oversee external contractors working on site, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols.
  • Assist in engineering and improvement projects, providing technical insights and hands-on support.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Background in a manufacturing/factory-based Maintenance environment, preferably within FMCG or Food.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
  • Experience in both reactive and preventive maintenance, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations in a manufacturing setting.
