Logistics Coordinator

The Opportunity:
Avantor is seeking a skilled Logistics Operative to join their team in Cambridge. In this role, you will be responsible for providing critical logistics support to customers and ensuring operational efficiency.
We have two opportunities available: a full-time, temporary position and a full-time, permanent role based in a brand-new facility at the customer site. The successful candidate will enjoy an attractive salary, annual bonus, pension scheme, private medical and dental care, and additional day off for their birthday.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
The Team:
You will join a close-knit team of 7 Logistics Technicians responsible for the fulfilment of technical logistics services. You will be part of the Lab and Product Services department, which supports big pharmaceutical companies and laboratories worldwide in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: GCSE or equivalent secondary school qualification
- Experience:
- Working in a logistics environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
- Ability to partner with internal and external teams, including couriers/suppliers
- Proven customer service focus and ability to work collaboratively
- Outstanding communication skills and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent attention to details and a desire to learn and adapt
- Good IT skills (Excel, Microsoft Outlook)
How You'll Thrive and Create an Impact:
- Providing time-critical activities, including filling liquid nitrogen tanks, conducting daily delivery runs and managing cryogenic deliveries, managing gas supplies and changing gas cylinders, handling the changeover of solvent drum
- Tracking and monitoring sample movements using dedicated tracking systems
- Using specialised software for vehicle management and tracking internal deliveries
- Analysing and recording usage trends for various materials and services
- Maintaining and archiving details record of materials and delivery
