Job Title: Senior Product Test Development Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Test Development Engineer to join our team at Raytheon UK. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and verifying test solutions for software and information & communication technology.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop test solution software and control systems.
  • Lead and guide junior engineers in the design and quality of test solution software.
  • Realize complex system requirements to provide robust and reliable test solutions.
  • Implement technical items and understand system-level items.
  • Collaborate with team members to agree on system designs, interfaces, and protocols.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality technical and user documentation.
  • Perform configuration and change management of software and document artefacts.
  • Develop test software and procedures to prove correct operation of test solutions.
  • Maintain test software and manage change throughout its lifecycle.
  • Design Authority for test system software and uphold design standards and methodologies.
  • Monitor and report progress of test development activities.
  • Provide support to end users and resolve technical issues.
  • Support company compliance to Health and Safety legislation.
  • Ensure business activity is conducted in line with company values, policies, and ethics codes of conduct.
  • Test Engineering Software Lead for a small/medium scale test engineering program.
  • Apply IPDS and organisational processes.
  • Contribute to section/business area resource planning.
  • Identify and engage SMEs to support Test Development Engineering activities.
  • Contribute to standard/tailored test development process.
  • Interface with external customers and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Computer Science or related subject.
  • Expert in NI LabView with extensive breadth of industrial experience.
  • Use and integration of test automation hardware.
  • Experience of software configuration management and change management tools.
  • Strong understanding of common test architectures.
  • Strong understanding of common communications architectures.
  • Experienced in the use of common test equipment.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Ability to write comprehensive technical design and project documentation.
  • Relevant test development industry experiences.
  • Excellent software and ICT troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to support/debug system integration.
  • Appreciation of test hardware electronic and mechanical design.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

Desirable:

  • Electronic Engineering qualifications and/or experience.
  • Experience in other software development languages.
  • Understanding of avionics communication buses.
  • Experience in process improvement projects and process documentation.
  • Experience with other operating systems/platforms.
  • Knowledge of environmental testing.
  • SC clearance.
