Database Engineer at Barclays

As a Database Engineer at Barclays, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital landscape. Your expertise in database systems, cloud computing, and DevOps automation will enable us to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement high-performance database infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry technology trends and innovations, contributing to the organization's technology communities.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on PostgreSQL and similar database technologies.
  • Experience with DevOps automation tools, including Code versioning (git), JIRA, Ansible, Containers, and Kubernetes.
  • PostgreSQL expertise, with the ability to serve as a technical escalation for complex database issues.
  • Experience in data migrations across different database technologies.
Desirable Skills
  • Cloud experience, with expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience in a financial environment.
  • Experience with system configuration management tools, such as Chef or Ansible.
  • Scripting skills in languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
