About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Medicine Specialist to join our team at County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Physician in Respiratory Care, you will play a key role in enhancing our respiratory services and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical opinion on a range of respiratory problems, both emergency and elective
  • Undertake outpatient clinics and cover clinics at one of our community hospitals
  • Participate in an unselected medical on-call rota on the Acute Medical Unit
  • Contribute to the development of respiratory services, including the ward and Respiratory Support Units
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and outcomes

Person Specification
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent
  • Experience of lung cancer investigation and management
  • Experience of medical teaching
  • Full and specialist registration with GMC (and Licence to Practice)
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or should have attained or be within 6 months of attaining CCT in Specialty at time of interview
