About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Respiratory Medicine to join our Acute Medicine and Medicine Specialties Teams at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality clinical care to our patients and contributing to the development of our respiratory services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical opinion on a wide range of respiratory problems, both emergency and elective.
  • Undertake outpatient clinics at our main base site and cover clinics at one of our community hospitals.
  • Participate in a weekly specialty rota for in-patient care on our dedicated respiratory ward.
  • Contribute to the development of our respiratory services, including the management of asthma, COPD, lung cancer, and other respiratory conditions.

Person Specification
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of lung cancer investigation and management.
  • Experience of medical teaching.
  • Full and specialist registration with the GMC (and Licence to Practice).
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent qualification.
