Job Title: Medical Laboratory Specialist

Earn an estimated $42,000 - $65,000 per year as a Medical Laboratory Specialist with Care New England Health System.

Primary Function: Perform all forms of phlebotomy procedures, including registration on any age level, process specimens to ensure stability, and provide laboratory results to providers.

  1. Obtain blood samples using aseptic techniques and follow established procedures.
  2. Enter patient information into the correct hospital system, verifying demographics and insurance details.
  3. Organize workload to ensure timely results for providers.
  4. Contact physicians regarding test requests and order tests in the computer system.
  5. Prepare reports for delivery to doctor's offices and maintain inventory of supplies.
  6. Clean and maintain phlebotomy work areas and assist with training new employees.

Requirements: A high school diploma and minimum six months job-related experience or equivalent. Phlebotomy certification is required for all employees hired after 2012.
