Telecommunications Lineman

Telecon is seeking a skilled and motivated Lineman to join our Civil Team. As a Lineman, you will be responsible for installing telecommunications infrastructure, including buried cable, wire, and ducts, for various projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Read and interpret blueprints or job specifications to execute all work assigned safely and in accordance with Telecon's health and safety policy.
- Work outdoors in various conditions to place copper or fibre optic telecommunications cables.
- Climb poles, ladders, and construction equipment to assist in the installation of telecommunications cables and apparatus.
- String cables between structures, manholes, from poles, towers, or trenches and ensure that all are to proper tension.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
- Accurately record and report project progress to the appropriate supervisory person and communicate any issues or expected delays.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar role.
- High school diploma.
- Valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record – a driver's license with a Z endorsement will be required to operate Expercom line vehicles and operate a rubber-tracked excavator.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to climb poles and work at heights up to and exceeding 30 feet.
- Able to complete the necessary training for working at heights and confined space, pass the corresponding examinations, and receive a client authorization number.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.
