About the Role
Eames Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Reinsurance Accounting Lead to join our team in London. As a key member of our finance function, you will be responsible for leading the technical accounting aspects of our reinsurance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the processing of all outwards reinsurance transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Own the manual processing of non-standard outwards reinsurance contracts, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
- Manage intra-group reinsurance submissions, serving as the primary point of contact for intercompany partners.
- Calculate and report reinsurance bad debt, providing key inputs for reinsurance recoverable reporting.
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance with outwards reinsurance regulations.
- Analyze and provide commentary on the outwards reinsurance result, identifying areas for improvement.
- Reconcile and control automated outwards reinsurance transactions in the ledger.
- Manage downstream reporting and external queries related to outwards reinsurance.
- Assist with inwards insurance and reserving transactions, providing secondary support.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of outwards reinsurance technical accounting from the insurance industry.
- Lloyd's Market experience is preferred.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) is essential.
- Proven process improvement skills, including the ability to identify areas for improvement.
- Strong controls and reconciliations experience.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Inquisitive mindset with proven problem-solving skills.
- Ability to explain complex data in simple terms.
- Experience with Oracle general ledger is preferred.
