Senior Reinsurance Technical Accountant

Arthur is seeking an experienced Senior Reinsurance Technical Accountant to join their Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant with a strong background in insurance and accounting to contribute to the development of an efficient Finance function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reinsurance Transaction Management: Oversee all outwards reinsurance transactions, ensuring accurate financial results and maintaining effective controls.
  • Reconciliation and Control: Manage reconciliations and controls for automated transactions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Manual Processing: Handle manual processing for non-standard reinsurance contracts, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Intercompany Partnerships: Act as the primary contact for intra-group reinsurance submissions and intercompany partners, fostering strong relationships and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Reinsurance Bad Debt Calculations: Conduct reinsurance bad debt calculations and contribute to recoverable reporting, providing valuable insights and analysis.
  • Auditor Liaison: Serve as the main contact for auditors regarding outwards reinsurance, ensuring accurate and timely responses to queries.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze and provide commentary on reinsurance results, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Reporting and Query Management: Manage downstream reporting and address external queries related to outwards reinsurance, providing expert support and guidance.
  • Secondary Responsibilities: Support inwards insurance and reserving transactions as a secondary responsibility, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn.

As a Senior Reinsurance Technical Accountant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Finance team to drive business growth and improve financial performance. If you are a qualified accountant with multiple years of experience in insurance post-qualification, with a good understanding of insurance accounting and some Lloyd's knowledge, this could be an ideal fit for you.
