Job Overview

J. Murphy & Sons Limited is a leading international, specialist engineering and construction company seeking a skilled SHES Advisor to join their team for the National Grid EGL1 Project.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves advising and aiding managers and supervisors in discharging their Health & Safety responsibilities towards employees as defined by Legislation and Company procedure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, providing advice as and when required.
  • SHESQ Planning: Aid management teams in ensuring compliance with all requirements stipulated in the SHESQ Plans.
  • Accident Investigations: Carry out accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure, analysing data to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Data Management: Manage and collate data on SHESQ related issues to identify areas for continuous improvement through trends and analysis.
  • Audit Programme: Assist and manage the audit programme, carrying out audits when required.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience within a SHES advisor, Health & Safety, or similar position.
  • Civil Engineering/Construction: Experience in civil engineering/construction.
  • SHES Membership: SHES Membership i.e. NEBOSH qualified.
  • ISO Standards: Solid understanding of the requirements of the ISO 9001, 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 standards.

The estimated salary for this role is £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
