Procurement Operations Director

Are you a seasoned procurement professional with a passion for driving commercial excellence in a fast-paced, complex environment? We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Operations Director to lead and transform our procurement operations as part of a larger organisational change program.

Based at our Aldermaston site, you will play a key role in optimising our procurement processes, improving systems, and driving commercial excellence within a public sector setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement best practices in budgeting, regulations, system processes, and risk management.
  • Oversee and support the existing procurement team, optimising procurement of common commodities through shared services.
  • Lead change initiatives within the procurement function, designing and streamlining processes and systems for improved efficiency.
  • Work closely with the transformation team, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring alignment with future business needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop procurement teams to deliver consistent, high-quality operational support.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing global procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated experience within procurement service centre environments.
  • Deep understanding of public sector governance, regulatory requirements, and associated challenges.
  • Expertise in concept-to-pay processes, helpdesk, requisition and order processing, tactical sourcing, and data management.
  • Significant experience working with ERP systems, especially Oracle (SAP experience is desirable).
