Our On Call Firefighters
As an On Call Firefighter, you will carry a pager and respond to a range of emergency incidents, engaging with local communities to promote fire, road, and water safety.
What You Will Do
You will:
- Respond to emergency incidents and engage with local communities
- Participate in training nights, courses, and community engagement activities
- Receive payment for operational incidents attended and time spent on training
Requirements
To be eligible, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or over
- Be eligible to work in the UK
- Be able to reach the station quickly and safely to respond to an emergency call out
- Have a good level of physical fitness
- Meet the required standard of vision and colour perception

We will provide you with the guidance and support to help you prepare for the fitness and practical assessments through our Pre Recruitment Engagement Programme.
