Salary: £20.55 per hour (paid weekly), plus bonus – estimated annual salary: £42,000 - £45,000 based on 40 hours per week.

Shifts: 4 on 4 off day shift (6am to 6pm)

Key Responsibilities:

As a Commercial Vehicle Technician, you will perform maintenance and repair services on commercial vehicles and trailers. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing faults: Accurately identify issues and ensure effective repairs, meeting high standards of reliability and functionality
  • Vehicle testing: Conduct thorough tests post-repair to ensure road-worthiness and compliance with safety standards
  • Maintenance work: Execute preventative maintenance routines to reduce downtime and costly repairs
  • Documentation: Manage warranty, contracts, and retail work paperwork meticulously
  • Ad hoc duties: Perform tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor, including manufacturer training sessions or supporting fellow technicians

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • City & Guilds certificate or equivalent NVQ Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
  • Demonstrable experience in vehicle diagnosis, maintenance, servicing, and repair, with a focus on commercial vehicles
  • Up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques and diagnostic tools
  • Previous attendance of manufacturers' training courses is advantageous
  • Fully qualified UK driver's licence required; HGV licence beneficial
  • Team player with methodical approach to problem-solving, excellent attention to detail, and pressure-handling skills
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanour essential
