About the SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a local school in Weymouth. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and promoting a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with the school's SENCO and other professionals to develop tailored intervention plans that meet the individual needs of students.
  • Contribute to a positive school ethos by supporting the overall well-being of students and promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and their application in a school environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other professionals.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs, with a commitment to providing high-quality support and guidance.
