About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a welcoming school in Weymouth. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualised education plans for students with SEN, tailoring educational activities and resources to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, helping them understand and complete their work, and providing additional explanations and assistance as needed.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where all students feel valued and included.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students, catering to the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and report to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in a similar role is essential, demonstrating an understanding of the unique challenges and needs of students with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
  • Show a deep commitment to helping students with SEN by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN education (desirable but not essential).
