Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. Located in the heart of Weymouth, this SEN school prides itself on fostering a nurturing environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the learning and development of students with special educational needs. You will work closely with experienced teaching staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Support students with academic tasks, including reading, writing, and numeracy, adapting materials and activities to suit individual needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their independence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to monitor student progress and contribute to the assessment process.
  • Promote inclusion and diversity within the school community, respecting the individuality of each student.
  • Support with personal care

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with children or adults with SEN.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
