Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Biffa Waste Services. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our plant by carrying out routine maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out plant upgrades and modifications to the required standards
  • Reporting all work carried out through our computerised maintenance management system
  • Development and implementation of a programme of planned preventative maintenance and inspection to minimise downtime
  • Liaising with external contractors on specific repairs/maintenance
  • Implementing and ensuring compliance with all company policies, processes and procedures

Requirements:

  • Experienced Mechanical/Multi-Skilled Engineer working in a process or production environment
  • A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to a changing environment
  • An HNC/HND/C+G (or Industry equivalent) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is preferable but not essential
  • Good level of experience working to clearly defined KPIs and delivering continuous improvement within an operational environment
  • Knowledge and practical experience of large Conveyors, Chain Drives, Hydraulics, material Compactors, Shredders, Overhead cranes and Pneumatics

Salary: up to £44,591.95 per annum DOE
