Children's Home Manager

Raven Medical Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children\u2019s Home Manager to lead our respite care home for children and young people aged 5 to 18 years old.
This is a contract post of a minimum of 3 to 6 months with the view to extend, working 37 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the emotional and physical well-being of children and young people in accordance with Looked After Children arrangements (LAC).
- Lead and manage a staff group to deliver effective services to children and young people in need of a positive and supportive respite placement.
- Advise on policies and procedures to reflect the severe and complex disabilities of our clients, the aims and objectives of the respite children\u2019s home, and develop systems for monitoring progress towards these aims.
- Draft and revise the statement of purpose and monitor it on a monthly basis in line with the requirements of Ofsted.
- Assess the developmental needs of the children and monitor and improve the home\u2019s care plan and practices for each child/young person.
- Monitor and plan the invasive health training needs for staff members in line with the medical needs of children with life-limiting complex health care needs. Establish a positive working relationship with healthcare professionals and chair the health and social care liaison group.
- Monitor and plan the training needs of staff to manage complex and challenging behaviors, carry out risk assessments, undertake manual handling tasks safely, and maintain the home at a standard to reduce opportunities for infection such as MRSA.
- Create and develop links between the community and the home to enable children to participate fully in the life of the community.
- Take responsibility for premises control, ensuring that health and safety policy and legislation are implemented, and that regular checks and risk assessments are completed as required.
- Ensure that all policies and procedures relating to children are adhered to at all times, securing good outcomes for children and young people.
- Investigate complaints according to corporate procedures and ensure that children and staff are aware of all procedures relating to complaints and concerns.
Daily rate is negotiable depending on experience.
