GSL Education - London is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to navigate both their academic and emotional challenges.

The Role:

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing individualized support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to develop essential life skills and strategies to manage their emotions and behaviors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in a variety of settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and other school environments.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, helping them to develop coping strategies and manage their emotions.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with SEMH needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of students and the school.
  • Knowledge of child development and learning theories, with a strong understanding of the needs of students with SEMH.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
