Financial Capability Specialist

This role is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals, particularly single parents, in the St Helens area. Working in partnership with the United Utilities Trust Fund, you will be identifying unclaimed benefits and supporting clients to find solutions to their financial problems.
As a Financial Capability Specialist, you will be coordinating access to advice for allocated clients who are at higher risk of disengaging from advice services. Your role will involve improving financial wellbeing by checking clients receive the correct welfare benefits, making grant & trust fund applications as appropriate, and advising on other income maximisation options.
You will help clients prepare a household budget and support them in gathering up-to-date financial information in preparation for appointments. Research and explore options and implications so that clients can make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate access to advice for allocated clients
- Improve financial wellbeing by checking clients receive the correct welfare benefits
- Making grant & trust fund applications as appropriate
- Advising on other income maximisation options
- Supporting clients in preparing a household budget
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Science or related field
- Experience working with vulnerable client groups
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work in a hybrid environment
Benefits:
- Salary: £25,900+ up to 5% pension
