The Opportunity:
This 13-month programme will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in business development. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, supporting the sales team in generating leads, and developing long-term collaborative relationships with customers.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing potential and existing customers with the highest level of customer support and assisting the sales team in generating and chasing leads.
- Focusing on effective customer account management to increase the company's customer base and develop long-term relationships within the building trade.
- Maintaining up-to-date product and industry knowledge to effectively promote Howdens products to new and existing customers.
- Using creative marketing materials to promote depot events, sales periods, and new product launches to customers.
- Staying in touch with lead banks regularly via phone calls and our customer engagement messaging tool.
- Developing long-term collaborative relationships with customers and identifying new business opportunities.
- Processing sales for customers using our in-store payment systems, quoting correct pricing, delivery dates, and stock requirements.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess strong communication skills, the ability to build strong relationships, good customer service skills, and a target-driven approach. You should also have excellent attention to detail, be able to work autonomously, and prioritise your workload effectively.
